      Sales Associate Interview

      Mar 2, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Stryker (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

Long 4+ month process. Drags out. Have to be persistent and check in weekly to remind them you are still there. Starts with a phone screen. Typical get to know you and your background. Then if moved along you’ll take a Gallup test. Your basic personality test that makes sure you’re a winner and have morals. If you can pass that you’ll meet with a sales manager. He’ll get to know you. Ask you why Stryker, how you can help, what you bring to the table (who you know). If he happens to like you by some slim chance you’ll then meet the rep you will be working for. Basically I’d you two don’t mesh just withdraw your name so it doesn’t look that bad on you. While he/she isn’t pulling the strings necessarily they most certainly get a say. If by some miracle you’re still in the picture after that, you meet the territory manager who will grill you about product detail, why stryker, why are you better than the others. It’s strictly an intimidation factor to see if you can handle it and the OR atmosphere.

There are five to six stages! First a recruiter, then hiring manager, then personality test, then your actual boss, then a group Interview. The entire process takes about 1.5 to 2 weeks. Some people have to do a case study as well.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Stryker

      Interview

Very casual phone calls and coffee chats. The gallup is hard and questions can be ambiguous so talk to a rep beforehand and ask them about their experience and tips they have. For the most part it has been phone calls to understand who you are but make sure to sell yourself everytime.

      Application

      Interview

The interview process has been great so far…my first one was a phone screening with their hiring manager. It was basic questions. Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to do medical sales who I’ve networked with etc. I then got moved on to an interview with their regional manager. The questions were tell me about yourself. What makes me different and then ended with behavioral questions that I focus using the star method to answer. I got moved onto the next round and now I’m waiting for an interview with the regional manager again, as well as other team members that I would be supporting. So far the interview process has been amazing and everyone I’ve met so far is great. I think as long as you have stories that you can tell about yourself as far as teamwork dealing with difficult situations from your past experience and how I think strategically is really important.
