Applied to a posting online. Received a request from a recruiter for a phone screen. Scheduled it for a few days after and had the call. Basic HR questions. Asked about my background. Told me about position. Said they'll submit me to the hiring manager.
A week later, I send an email to the recruiter to ask for a status update. Said they're still waiting on a response. A couple days after that, they said the manager would like to schedule a Skype interview and that they'll have a coordinator schedule it.
Waited 2 days before reaching out to the recruiter since no one had scheduled anything. They said they'll have the coordinator send me an email with more information, but that a Skype interview was scheduled for Friday.
Never received that email. Didn't know when it was, who it was with, etc. So I reach out to both the recruiter and coordinator without any response. Decided to just sign in to Skype and leave it on all day, just in case the manager gets on. That never happened.
The recruiter and coordinator ghosted. No response/update/anything. I know recruiters get paid a commission, so I'm wondering if they do this to get their numbers up. Either way, not somewhere you'd want to work.
