I applied through Indeed.com and was contacted by a recruiter for the company. Drove out to Lynwood to meet with them for 15 minutes. I asked them point blank if I was expected to be on call after hours for crisis interventions (some positions I found require this), to which he said NO. I was scheduled for a follow up interview a few weeks later with a Supervisor at their South Central location, who mentioned that Clinicians are expected to be on call on a rotating basis, one week every 2 months (I was apparently lied to)...she also said that I'd expected to transport clients on a daily basis in my own vehicle. I spoke with the recruiter the following day and asked why he had misinformed about being on call (he claimed he didn't know, which is a concerning sign in and of itself), and why he failed to mention that I'd be transporting clients in my own personal vehicle, to which he claimed he did by mentioning that we get "mileage reimbursement" (it just means that we get mileage reimbursement to visit clients..doesn't imply that we transport clients in our own car, as most companies have vehicles designated for that) and began arguing with me when I said that $58,000 seems like a low number to risk transporting clients in my vehicle with the insurance that I have, asking instead for $60,000. He mentioned he would get back to me on that number, but never did...
From what I can tell, it's just another DMH contracted site trying to trick Associate MFTs/ACSWs into doing more work than what they're actually reimbursed for...I've encountered several companies like this. Not a big deal..they're a dime a dozen. It's just unfortunate taking the time to go to 2 interviews and getting misinformed in the process. Fellow Associates, be cautious! I personally feel uncomfortable working for a company that tries to mislead me before I even begin working for them, but if that works for you, then by all means. Also, this is primarily a case manager position (ie. doing errands for clients, managing their lives for them, etc.). This is the case for many associate jobs at this level (which I already knew, but if this was my first job out of school, I wouldn't know unless I asked)...
