I applied online. I interviewed at SolarCity in Feb 2014
Interview
Applied on-line for Outside Sales Rep. Got an email from HR asking to schedule a phone call. Spoke to HR and was quickly informed that they do not hire Outside Sales Rep unless the person already has solar sales experience. Advised I could be considered for Energy Consultant working out of Home Depots and working every weekend-Sat and Sun. I was reluctant about this, but told it usually does not take long to get promoted to Outside Sales. Sent link to a personality test, but test also has some cognitive/math questions. Then got an email from Regional Manager to set a phone interview and then face to face interview. At face to face interview surprised to have 5 people interviewing. Once I questioned the every weekend work, I knew the interview was pretty much over. Too bad as I know it would have been a great job and I would have rocked at it. They really should consider giving reps at least one weekend a month off.
