I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Social Thinking (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
It was three interviews and then a task, quite a lot of time and all on different days over 3 week period. Interviews took place over video format.
- First interview was 1 on 1
- Second interview was meeting the whole team (6 people)
- Third interview was meeting co founders (4 people)
- Last request was a task (they should ask this first for future candidates)
I was told I didn't get the role due to them deciding to change the job description into what they are more after.
However I have seen the same job and description being posted. Would be helpful if they provided constructive feedback for future candidates.
I was also informed before my last interview took place in an email that the 3rd interview was the final stage and would be told after this if I moved to the hiring process. Instead I got an email requesting I did a task. I decided to not make effort with the task due to feeling a bit deflated with this long process. The email also provided limited information in what they were looking for in this task.
I would recommend in future;
- they outline clear expectations for the interview process.
- Request task at the beginning.
- constructive feedback for future candidates.
- know what they are after being posting jobs online

Interview
One of the WORST interviews I have EVER been on. There were 2 women interviewing me. The main lady asking the questions was super rude, pushy, condescending, and essentially a grill Sergeant. I have years of experience plus a master’s degree and lots of other certifications to qualify me. She wanted hardcore evidence and data I no longer had access to because my former company has that information. It's also something I can't disclose. Needless to say, she acted like social media was rocket science. Every question was an attempt to trip me up. She had a scowl on her face and was HORRIBLE. How can you treat potential future employees this way when you're a company full of therapists providing a service for special needs and more?! I pulled my candidacy from this job. I called the recruiter and immediately told them I do NOT want to work for this company for all the money in the world. I was shaking afterward. I did NOT wait for an offer. If they offered me this job for a million dollars I would turn it down.
If you're a potential candidate wanting to work for them, look elsewhere.
