      Paid Media Coordinator Interview

      Feb 14, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Carlsbad, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Social Supply Co (Carlsbad, CA)

      Interview

Absolutely horrible interview process with a great lack of communication and respect for candidates. The CEO messages me on linkedin after I put in an application to have a zoom interview. The interview happens and they ask me some high level questions which I obviously don't know since I'm fresh out of college and at the end of the interview they say they're looking for someone with more experience which is fine okay, but you could've just glanced at my resume and realized that I only had like 1 internship under my belt and saved us all some time. After telling me they're looking for someone with more experience and an awkward first interview they tell me they want me to come in person for another interview. I was pretty desperate at the time so I came in for the interview and it was pretty normal. They even give me a tour of the office, and after its all said and done they ghost me. Okay fine whatever, rude and inconsiderate, but it's happened before. I sent 2 or 3 follow up emails and nothing for like 3 months. Then one of the managers emails me out of the blue and says they "have a job" for me. I was job searching for a while and was low on morale so I got a bit hopeful thinking that maybe they were going to offer me a job. This is where I was wrong. I drive over 30 minutes all dressed up in interview attire only to be met with the CEO saying they wouldn't give me a job and the manager saying they had a freelance gig for me and that they'd email it over to me. They could've just saved me the embarrassment (and gas money) and emailed me the gig. The cherry on top was that the manager ghosted me about the freelance gig too. At this point I just had to laugh because they really had me dancing like a circus monkey for their incompetent company. Such horrible communication coming from everyone involved. This whole process literally had me on the verge of tears at one point because of how embarrassed and defeated I felt. I'm glad I didn't get hired here, this interview process this was probably only a taste of what bs was to come. Management was worried with me not having enough experience but maybe they should've been more worried about having experience in basic communication and respect.
