I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Social Interest Group (London, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
I have previously worked for the company where I left due to a culture of bullying and clique like behaviour from manager. I decided to reapply to gain some varied experience as I believed it may have just been the project that I was working at that had these problems. As I arrived for the interview, the current manager recognised me and chose to stare at me through a glass door for 30 minutes, making the interview behind by 20 minutes after it was scheduled. There were no apologies for this and the atmosphere was uncomfortable from the onset. The interviewer mumbled the questions and it appeared that they did not want to be there, I had to continuously ask if they could repeat the question. They became frustrated with me and snappy, making the interview experience on of the worst I have ever had to sit through. They tutted at my answers and refused to make eye contact. They even attempted to undermine my previous experience whilst I was answering a question and it was quite unprofessional. I cried leaving the building. About 20 minutes later I was notified that I had not gotten the job. I requested feedback multiple times from HR and they ignored me. Overall a really toxic environment from the entire company, and not just isolated to a single project like I initially thought.

Question 1
Give examples of when you have gone above and beyond for your role.
Hello, thank you for leaving your experience here, I am really sorry to hear you felt that way and had a negative experience. I'd like to have a confidential conversation with you about this as this certainly isn't something we want our candidates to experience. Can you please email me in confidence at hr@socialinterestgroup.org.uk so that I can hear from you and look into this - Director of People & Culture.
