      HR Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Snowflake

      Interview

During the email communication, I was scheduled with a recruiter for the initial Zoom screen. When I joined Zoom at the scheduled time of the call, the interviewer appeared on Zoom 8 minutes late and it was the actual hiring manager. There was no apology for being tardy. The interviewer introduced herself as the hiring manager along with her name and tenure at Snowflake then proceeded to ask me “do you have any questions for me about the role or company?”. I was stunned as a typical initial screen starts with a recruiter and an intro of the screener, company and role. Regardless, I reserved my reactions and asked her about the role that may not be reflected in the JD, HR team dynamic and the culture. This was 3 minutes into the conversation after she was 8 minutes late. She briefly answered my questions and without finishing, she pivoted and said she was distracted by a noise in her house (although I could not hear via Zoom) so she excused herself. She returned after 10 minutes and again asked me if I had any other questions. At that time, I kindly responded with a polite “no” as it was evident I was not a candidate she or the hiring team was considering. As a non-White, female candidate, I felt it was a forced call to skew their diversity data. As soon as the call ended, I was very upset and felt I wasn’t given a fair chance with my qualifications. I hope my situation was isolated as no one should experience that awful encounter.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Snowflake

      Interview

There were long periods of time between contact because I did not have an assigned recruiter - the hiring manager(s) communicated through a recruiting coordinator, which made for a choppy and confusing process overall. They kept adding new rounds and suggesting the role may change, which did not give me much confidence in the People team as strategic planners. Definitely far from an ideal candidate experience.
