Question 1
How did you contributed to the Open Source Project?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Smarsh (Bengaluru) in Apr 2026
Interview
The process started with an OA round, which I cleared. I was then invited for the second round, which also went well. After that, HR informed me that the final technical round would be conducted in Bangalore. No travel or accommodation support was provided, but I agreed since I was genuinely interested in the opportunity.
A few days later, HR mentioned that the interview could also be conducted virtually. By then, I had already booked my travel and requested reimbursement, which was declined.
On the day of the interview, I had to wait outside the office for over 30 minutes. The first interviewer was professional and the discussion went well. However, the second interviewer seemed unclear about the questions being asked and appeared confused during the discussion, despite me explaining my approach clearly.
After returning home, there was no communication regarding the result. Despite multiple follow-ups, HR did not respond initially. Eventually, I was informed that I would not be moving forward.
Overall, the experience felt poorly coordinated. Communication was inconsistent, and the process lacked professionalism. Candidates should be cautious about committing to in-person interviews without clear support or communication.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Smarsh
Interview
The Smarsh interview process includes a written test to assess aptitude and coding, a technical interview to evaluate problem-solving and domain knowledge, followed by an HR interview for personality fit.
