I would say my overall interview experience was good.
However my only negative would be that they were dishonest in the job advertisement when mentioning salary, in the advert it stated that the starting salary would be 17k raising up to 19k after training however when I received my verbal offer they told me the actual salary is 10k and everything after is bonus, and when I mentioned that the advert was different they said it stated with bonus up to 19k and I went back and checked but they lied! There is no mention of bonuses. Even the new adverts don’t mention the salary is basically half bonus.
My initial phone interview went quite well, big tip for all applying; use the STAR approach when answering questions and make sure you highlight what YOU did as an individual to succeed in that specific situation. Although I did feel my interviewer seemed to have very little interest in what I had to say, so it felt difficult to try and connect with him.
My experience day also went very well, just make sure you prep for a competency interview and practice some roll play scenarios beforehand!
The group discussions is based on information they give you and you have to put in order, based on your opinion, which statements are key to customer service, really there are no right or wrong answers here, they want to see that you can communicate confidently, be a leader but also involve everyone in the group, try your best to remember everyone’s name and use the names of the people in your group when you respond to them, it earns you brownie points! Make sure you read up on what is key to customer services and try and tie your answers in with the Sky values and how they like to treat their customers! They know when people have did their homework!
They will give you a small booklet with a breakdown of all the Sky packages and give you initially some practice scenarios after which you will do your roll play assessment, it is key to remember you aren’t being quizzed on your knowledge on the Sky packages but on how you deal with the fake customer on the scenario, it lasts about 8 minutes!
