After applying, I was promptly contacted to conduct an initial virtual screening with an Ops Analyst. I think that ran about a half hour. Then, after completing their online assessment to test basic cognitive & computer skills I was cleared for a 1st round of virtual interviews (1 hour) with 3 other Ops team members, one of them being HR Relations. They ran about 30min each. Finally, was contacted to participate in Round 2 virtual interviews (1 hour) with team members from other departments such as Investment Research, Client Advisory & some CFPs. I felt it was odd to be getting interviewed by team members, some with no official prior Personnel Relations or HR Hiring background/Certifications and making the final call, but they are all considered part of a “Hiring Team” designated to acquire the best fit for the company/position. In my opinion, all the interviews went extremely well. And despite applying for the CSA role which on their website was classified as “Mid-level” (I have a screenshot of it) they kept referring to it as only Entry-level. Regardless, I had indicated a desired salary range upon applying so overlooked the discrepancy as this was something we could discuss later on. I have 20 years within the Financial Industry with 10 of them being Advisory/Analysis/Brokerage account related, which they were also aware of. Nonetheless, in the weeks that followed I was informed that they would not be extending me an offer. Most likely for the best, since now I feel it may have been a few huge steps backwards for me in my career. Although I do respect the fact that they provide inclusion of actual department members to engage in the hiring process, I felt some of them kind of “talked up” the CSA role to be a lot more than what it actually is, a Client Service role with Admin responsibilities. Overall, all of the associates I interacted with were highly professional & polite, with the exception of one who during one of our virtual calls seemed highly distracted and kept looking offscreen at things, and appeared a bit disinterested in engaging. As part of the interview process (even virtual) it is always proper etiquette to remain focused when engaging. They seem to all work very closely & well together. I guess they felt I just wouldn’t fit into their clique. I don’t particularly favor “cliques,” I just get the job done with methodical proficiency and focus on internal team-building & growth. But can still do all of that & have fun at the same time.
