      I interviewed at ServiceNow

      Interview

It was a standard interview process consisting of a portfolio presentation and 1:1s to determine competence and fit. It moved along pretty quickly once I got the initial interview with the hiring manager.

      User Experience Designer Interview

      Sep 23, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ServiceNow in Jul 2020

      Interview

I got to the final round of the interview - panel interview, and they said the result will come out within a week. At the end, it's been more than a month, and the recruiter kept saying they are figuring out, you are still a top candidate blablabla. I went to the jobinvite system, it shows that I wasn't being selected. No rejection letter or anything so far.

      User Experience Designer Interview

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at ServiceNow (San Diego, CA) in Jun 2020

      Interview

First round (portfolio screen): I met with the Design Lead for a 45 minute interview. My interviewer introduced themself and asked me to tell them a bit about my background. Then, we jumped into the portfolio screen part of the interview, which took up most of the time. I presented 2 of my favorite pieces in my portfolio and walked through my process. After that, my interviewer gave me an opportunity to ask any questions I had about the company/position. The interviewer was very nice and seemed interested in what I had to say. It seemed like they were evaluating both technical skills and cultural fit. Second round (design presentation): Around a week later, I got an email from the recruiter to setup the final interview. This interview was 4-5 hours long and was with a panel of around 6 other designers on the team. The first part of the interview was an hour long presentation. For the presentation, I presented the same two pieces I presented in the first round, but I went into more detail. After I gave my presentation, the panelists asked me some questions, and I had the opportunity to ask them questions about ServiceNow. After the presentation, I met with each of the panelists for 30 minute 1:1's. These 1:1's were just casual conversations about my background/design process and about their experience at ServiceNow. As long as you prepare and are able to explain your design process and seem enthusiastic about your work, you'll do well. Be prepared to talk about pivot points in the design process and what you would do differently if you were doing the project again.
