I applied in-person. I interviewed at Sears (Calgary, AB) in Apr 2017
Interview
I handed in a physical resume to a manager, although it seems they usually have applicants apply online or throw their resume into a large box. I was offered an interview after, off chance, running into a manager while looking for the resume box. When I arrived on the date I learned it was a group interview with myself and 4 others. The interview consisted of a portion where we interviewed each other a presented each others information to the 2 managers. The next part we were asked what were some tasks that could be done when not with a customer - example would be to size clothing racks. The final task of the interview was to go around the store and chose an outfit for one of the managers interviewing us - shoes, clothes and accessories - and then present the choices.
Straight forward, they had me fill out questions on a computer. It then was a group interview, it would have been nice to have a one on one so it was a bit awkward.
Simple and brief. Wanted to hire right away. Didn’t ask any additional questions or anything off of the online application. Very quick, offered the hourly rate right then snd there.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Huntsville, AL) in Jan 2022
Interview
Casual, laid back conversation about previous work experience and hypothetical customer situations. Very relaxed. It was what you’d expect for the position and I wouldn’t stress about it in the least
