      Cashier Interview

      Mar 18, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sears in Mar 2012

      Interview

I applied online, and two weeks later received a call, they set up the interview for the next day. Since the Sears I applied to was in the mall they didn't directly have their offices inside labeled. So I had to ask an employee where Human Resources were. I told them I was there for an interview and they knew who I was, and I waited for about 10 minutes for the assistant manager to interview me. He finally came and brought me to his office, he told me right away the expectations of the job, and if I could handle it. It was a very chill interview, he was laid back. He asked me basic questions like "What was a time where you set a long term goal, how did you achieve it?" and "Name a time you were faced with a hard problem, what was the outcome." if I paused, he helped elaborate the question, making it easier on me. After he was done with his questions he told me he was going to set up a second interview with the manager, but then after problems with getting ahold of times and dates for it, he went ahead and offered me the job right there. I filled out my W-2 stuff on their computer, and signed some sheets, they gave me a sheet for a drug test I had to take within 48 hours. After I took the drug test, they called me back 3 days later, and I started training the next day. It was quick, simple, and everyone was nice, I like it so far (The computer training is ver boring, but hey, you get paid for the training) In all I went through one interview, and a drug test, they photocopied my social security card, and ID. I got advice and tips from this website, that's why I made sure I posted after everything was through.

      Interview

Took like 20 mins. Very easy but questions seemed random. It also seemed like management had no idea they had interviews scheduled cuz there were several of us waiting for a long time

      Interview

The interview process can vary depending on the company and position, but here’s a general idea of what to expect: 1. Application Review: After applying, they’ll review your resume. If they’re interested, you’ll get a call or email to set up an interview. 2. Phone/Video Interview: A lot of places do an initial screening over the phone or via video call. They’ll ask about your background, why you're interested in the job, and how your skills fit the role. It’s usually a casual chat, but make sure to prepare by knowing the company and job description. 3. In-Person Interview: If you pass the initial screening
