I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Schneider Electric (Vellore) in Sep 2017
Interview
They came for campus placements to VIT on August of 2017. They had a 4 step hiring process.
1. Online test - it tests your English proficiency, logical thinking and quants. Logical thinking had gears based questions that was something different than other companies that had come. Around 100 people passed this round.
2. Ground discussion - we were split into groups of 6. There were 2 moderators who were observing us. Those who spoke crap and who didn't give others the chance to talk were eliminated. So were the ones who didnt talk at all. Take your time. It's okay if you don't do the opening. At the end of the day, your points should be relevant and you should demonstrate your skills. Don't be dominating or try too hard to impress the mods. Around 30 people cleared this interview.
3. Techno-managerial interview - the questions vary depending on the role you apply for. For a managerial role(ex: project management), they asked questions like "why management, why not technical?", "Will you be able to handle if we make you a project manager now?" Etc. They also asked questions from the resume. Around 20 people cleared this interview.
4. HR interview - the questions were general. They asked things like "why Schneider electric?", "Any plans for higher studies?", "Most stressful situation you've faced?" Etc around 16 were hired.
The key is to just be completely honest. If you don't know, say that. Don't make stuff up. The interviewees of both the rounds tested the company fit more than anything. They didn't ask any technical question. They only tried to understand if your values align with theirs. A sure shot way of acing the interview is to read about the company- it's values, what it does, who are it's competitors, recent press coverage etc. And be sure to let them know that you've read about their company.
