Interview

Was pretty lax, not exactly sure why I was hired didn't have the best interview. Questions were standard and if you have any experience otherwise you're golden. Even if you don't, didn't seem to have the best grasp of the info.

Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Saskatchewan Health Authority (Regina, SK) in Aug. 2020

Interview

I live in a city with a different time zone. The person who arranged the interview through email suggested a timeslot without mentioning the timezone. After emailing clarification, that person sent an invitation to my Google calendar without any link. Overall, it took 10 emails (back and forth) to schedule the interview and I finally got the link. It was a interview on WebEx. The three interviewers sat in a big meeting room far apart from each other and there was only one webcam at the corner of the room. I hardly saw the face of the interviewers and I hardly heard their questions clearly as the reception was not very good. I understand that we have stay at least 6 feet apart with each other but I couldn't understand why couldn't they just do it in their own office and with their own laptop? And throughout the interview I think we all sensed that it's not a good fit. And when I answered one of the questions, one of th interviewer laughed and it seemed to me it was unprofessional to do so even though you don't see the candidate was th right fit. I have spelled out everything about myself and you should know who you are interviewing. I didn't feel respect from one of the interviewers. The interview was supposed to be 1 hr but I lost interest and didn't want to ask any questions and ended it early. It was a complete waste of time.

Interview Questions
  • Standard questions like: what's your leadership style? How do you solve conflict between two colleagues? What's the first thing you would do if you are hired? How would you build relationships with the physician throughout the province. It was supposed to be a Clinical Biochemist in the provincial reference laboratory and I was expecting some technical questions or something in the regulatory aspect. However, there wasn't any.
