I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Saphyre (Columbus, OH) in Nov 2023
Interview
Some red flags popped up during the interview process, things you'd expect from a retail environment - "you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean," for example. Which I have only ever heard from management that gets mad when you're literally sitting down for your lunch break. Whoever does the interviewing talked down on other candidates in the room with me. The biggest issue though came with the actual job offer. In the interview, I was told employees are cross-trained - makes sense. I received a job offer less than half an hour after my interview ended. In fact, I received three! Being a wellness advisor apparently includes literally accepting positions for multiple roles at once - all for the same pay rate. One of those roles is security officer. This company is hiring people with zero experience in security, which is not only unsafe for the employee, but for the business as well. All of these roles you'd have to take on, for $15 an hour. I am not going to risk my safety should a patient get aggressive for $15 an hour, especially with no actual security training. It's clear that not only would you need to put your safety at risk, but you would also have to do multiple jobs for the pay of one - and not great pay, at that, since most dispensaries in the area hire at at least several dollars more for part-time (lowest I have seen is $17/hr, 20 hr/wk). Avoid at all costs. Red flags everywhere.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked about experience with the cannabis industry and retail, why you would make a good fit. I saw the sheet of questions - it's literally just a sample interview sheet printed from Google.
