I was contacted by an outside recruiter for a contract Talent Acquisition Manager role located in NJ. I was scheduled for a 30 minute video interview with the Sr. Manager Talent Acquisition, only to be completely ghosted; no acknowledgement, no accountability, no apology. This shows zero regard for candidate care and reflects unprofessional, unacceptable behavior. It speaks volumes about a lack of values and likely signals a chaotic, toxic work environment.
As a fellow recruiter, I understand that miscommunications happen. Messages don't get passed along in time, interviews can be missed, decisions are made but not communicated promptly to candidates. We're human, and mistakes can be fixed with a quick phone call to acknowledge the oversight and apologize.
What's troubling here is that this was Samsung HR/Talent Acquisition showing a complete lack of professional courtesy and bare minimum decency toward a peer in the same field.
I'm relieved to have learned this before potentially representing them, because I won't risk my reputation working with a company whose actions contradict their own employer brand and values.
