      Associate Software Engineer Interview

      Mar 10, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sabre in Mar 2022

      Interview

There was so much miscommunication between the interviewers throughout this whole process. There were 3 interviews total: 1 with HR, 1 with a team lead, and 1 with the hiring manager. The HR representative was 15 minutes late to the first phone screen. It was pretty easy and gave a general overview of the position. He then said to look out for invite to my next 2 interviews. I had an interview with the team lead and it was very trivia-like. The whole interview had no questions about me personally and was all Linux, Windows, and networking trivia. Very hyper focused on Linux commands. I was told in this interview that this was a contract position which is straight up wrong information. I was also told that the position started remotely and would eventually move into the office, which was also not true. This interview was also very difficult because the interviewer frequently interrupted me before I could finish my sentences. I emailed the hiring manager after the 2nd interview and he confirmed that it was not a contract position and it was indeed full-time. I then had my 3rd interview with the hiring manager, and it was about 75% trivia about Linux and Windows commands, and 25% personal/cultural fit. I was told even more contradicting information in this interview. I was told that the position is not remote whatsoever and that I would be reporting to the office in Dallas. The job posting said the words "flexible remote options available" and that the position was in Southlake, so both of these aspects were apparently not true. I have not received an offer or rejection yet, but I would rather not work somewhere with outright lies in their job descriptions and has such horrible communication issues.
