The initial interview steps were average—a phone interview with HR followed by a virtual interview with the Special Projects Manager. After discussing the next steps, with another two interviews planned, I followed up with my thank-you email and subsequently never heard back. Of course, it is absolutely fine if the company wishes to pursue another candidate, but some direct follow-up and explanation would have been more professional.
