I made it to the phone interview stage and was interviewed by a handful of faculty on the hiring committee. The process was smooth and everyone was polite. I did not make it on to the next round of fly-outs
The most unprofessional interview I have ever encountered. First of all, they had an internal interim candidate who the job went to, and why even bother interviewing candidates if you know you are already going to give the position to the interim candidate. I interviewed back in February of 2025 for the role, they told me that a decision for on-campus would be made by March. March comes and goes I reach out in April to inquire, they say that their timeline has been delayed, they are still accepting applicants, and that any future contact should be directed towards Human Resources. Should have taken that as I didn't have the job. It is now June, never heard anything and I check LinkedIn to see the internal candidate was granted the role. Employers should have to notify external candidates if an internal candidate is up for the position because 9x10 they always hire the internal candidate.

Rigorous but fair - committee driven. All members of the committee, from the Chair of the English Department through the secretary of the department contribute questions and are well involved in the decision-making.
