      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SThree (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2023

      Interview

The phone screen was positive with a clear explanation of the position. However, after that, there was no feedback or response to my emails, which left me feeling ignored. So, I only had 1 round with them.

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SThree (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I started the process by applying through my college career fair. I talked with a recruiter and after a brief conversation discussing the position and the company, a phone interview was set-up for further questioning. The recruiter sounded desperate and didn't really have much to say in terms of why the salary was so low in comparison to other recruiting firms in SF After the phone interview, lasting roughly 20 minutes with generic questions about myself and my resume, I was invited down to the office for a in-person interview. I interviewed with three people--a director, a manager, and a recent trainee. The questions were all over the place ranging from basic behavioral type questions like- name a time when you were competitive to personal questions like- are you in a relationship? do you see yourself working through distance or committing to long hours? After talking to all three- the recruiter came back into the room with news on whether or not I passed that round of interviews and may move on to the final round of interviews which is a "Shark Tank" presentation to the board of directors. The presentation followed the outline of the show itself, in which I was required to create a new product and pitch the idea to the board of directors in an in-depth PowerPoint presentation with a business model and everything. The recruiter sent me an e-mail with past examples of presentations to get an idea of what was expected, but the reality was--I was going thru finals and didn't have the time or the passion to move forward with this kind of ordeal especially after talking to a director, who questioned every answer I said, and a manager, who only talked about himself and how overly qualified he is for the job and how sales is so easy in America (this is an international recruiting firm that recently reached out to the US) I understand that recruiting goes hand in hand with sales and a "shark tank" presentation will help weed out the underperforming sales people, but the length of the interview was beyond the scope of the reputation of the company...no one has time for this let alone for a company that is new and upcoming, not generous in salary and benefits, and a cocky office atmosphere.
