I applied online. I interviewed at STR in Apr 2026
Interview
Really unprofessional process. I talked with a recruiter via email to set up an interview. Recruiters response time was terrible, which is understandable if they are really busy. However, what I found to be really unprofessional was the lack of follow up after the interview. The first interview was with the hiring manager. It was low pressure and professional. I thought it went well. He told me I’d hear back in between 1-3 weeks. I followed up after 1 week, was told they were still deciding. I then followed up after 3 weeks and never heard back. If I take the time to prepare an application and prepare for an interview, then the company should at least give me the courtesy of a follow up with a yes/no decision.

Question 1
Breaking down how some simple python functions worked and what output they would produce
Really enjoyed the process. Questions focused on my actual work (decisions I had made in projects, how I would approach things differently in a different configuration of the problem, what tools/practices I use) which I really appreciated. Everyone was kind and seemed excited to speak with me.
1. Screening with hiring manager
2. Panel with 3 engineers of varying seniority and the group lead
3. Offer
Very clear/cut and dry process.
