I applied online, and the process took about three weeks. I interviewed at Skycope (Canada) in Burnaby, BC, in July 2025.
The interview process consisted of an initial screening conducted by team, followed by a take-home test, and finally an in-person interview.
During the in-person session, I was asked to demonstrate tests on the drone technology the team is developing and to provide an overview of my relevant experience. The entire session lasted approximately six hours and included technical questions as well as on-the-spot analysis of test results. Overall, the interview process itself was well-structured, and my interactions with the managers were positive.
However, the communication experience was extremely disappointing. Responses were often delayed by several days despite follow-ups, and after completing all interview rounds, I never received any decision update. I personally spent around $900 on a flight to Vancouver to attend the in-person interview, yet it has now been over two months without any response.
For a company that expects candidates to invest weeks of preparation and more than 12 hours in interviews, this lack of basic courtesy and closure is unacceptable. Even a short rejection email would have shown respect for a candidate’s time and effort—especially after reaching the final panel stage.
This experience reflects poorly on the company’s professionalism and candidate communication practices, especially when compared to other leading organizations that prioritize transparency and respect throughout the hiring process. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously, as I’ve noticed similar experiences reported by other candidates on Glassdoor.
