Called within a day of applying online. casual interview by chef. No structure to interview. Didn't mention pay, if you don't have history doing the job he kept bringing it up. I'm not sure if that wasn't mentioned on my file. The people there seemed like in their 20-30s. I wasn't sure what was happening. I didn't get any info about the job he just asked to come and watch the person doing the job and learn. Didn't mention salary or anything. Whole process took 5 min. I i left feeling confused and didn't take the job
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ruggles Black (Houston, TX)
Interview
the interview was very casual. I sat down with the interviewer and filled out an application and we went over the application and had a conversation. there were some questions but i mostly just described myself and what could offer the restaurant. I got the job the same day I went in. They happened to need someone, so it all worked out. I have seen other interviews be a little more stressful, and some less, depending upon the job applied for, references, and the restaurant's needs. The minimum qualifications to become a waiter are not daunting, so the interview process is not all that stressful. perhaps there are other judgments that are based on appearance, cleanliness, demeanor, personality. so, if you have deficiencies there, maybe the interview will be more stressful.
