Very disrespectful to your time company! They would send you a long, boring and badly defined take-home task with many requirements just after a small HR talk. You are expected to spend a few days of your life on it without even having a normal technical interview before :(
More about task:
1. It is really boring, overstretched (8+ hours) and requires a lot of unrelated boilerplate code (like a compulsory usage of postgresql for training, Jupiter notebooks in two formats? etc)
2. Task might be better, sometimes it is vaguely formulated, each question could be answered differently depending on information which IS NOT provided and data is of low quality.
For me it feels like “let’s test everything we can, why not, it’s not our time or money”. I got bored at some point and could manage to finish it properly.
