      Sales Executive Interview

      Nov 6, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Berlin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ResearchGate (Berlin) in Oct 2017

      Interview

There were three main stages, including a 30 minute phone interview, and two on-site interviews lasting about an hour each. The recruiting team were excellent at communicating with me throughout the process. The second interview entailed a "sales challenge", which I found helped to focus the conversation and clarify exactly what was expected of an SE. All the questions asked were fair and balanced, mainly focusing on skills and culture fit, and I also had plenty of time to turn the tables and ask my own questions. Congrats to the recruitment team on a very smooth and transparent process!

      Sales Executive Interview

      May 16, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Berlin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ResearchGate (Berlin) in Mar 2018

      Interview

It was a three step interview: 1. Phone Conversation: The responsible person from HR called me to get a high level idea on my previous experiences and how my skills fit with the job responsibility. Very straight forward conversation and within a day I've received an invitation for an on-location interview. 2. 1st On-Location Interview: Before the interview I had to submit couple of tasks related to their sales strategy. On-location interview was conducted by one HR manager and a Sales Team Lead Manager. The 1st part of the interview was on general interview questioning and the 2nd part was a Role-Play. The interview went for approx. 1 hour. 3. 2nd On-Location Interview: Within couple of days after my 1st interview, they called me for a 2nd interview with the Sales Director. The interview was very interesting as the guy was very experienced and he shared some very motivating stories from his experience and gave me a clear picture of what they will be expecting from me.

      Sales Executive Interview

      Oct 29, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ResearchGate (Berlin) in Oct 2015

      Interview

It was the most unprofessional interview I've ever been attended. These people named a "call center" job as Executive Sales position. Either they have no idea what they're posting out there or they called me to this interview just to pump me for information on which people they should recruit and what their sales model should look like (I have 8 years experience in sales). Some guy in a beanie posed as the Head of Sales, clearly had no idea what he was talking about. The interview was interrupted twice by some people who came in to leave their musical instruments in the room. This was a joke, they've wasted my time!! They're a bunch of juniors who use their time playing video games instead of working. It was 1 o'clock when I passed a couple of guys playing on their Xbox in their office. Good luck selling, guys!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Everything from the model I use to sell to which traits I would look for in new sales hires. I had the feeling I was called just to be squeezed for information.
