1. Hiring manager screen - resume confirming / screening, was told went well, was professional 2. Scenario coding challenge (automated, combination API/UI codebase debugging & essay style questions), was told I did well, enjoyable process 3. Single engineering interview (mid-level engineer - was really more of a junior - Q&A'd me), was told very enjoyable conversation and went well 3. Panel engineering interview. Q&A had no pre-made questions ready to go as their software was broken. The panel made it clear they were ready to leave at the beginning as was a Friday afternoon. The technical lead interviewer spent the majority of the time ranting about the general direction of common Javascript patterns/frameworks by criticizing them and didn't really ask questions at all other than "so what do you, like, think of that?". Yawned at the start of multiple of my few answers where I needed to essentially agree, and cursed often during their explanations. Left in the middle of the interview to go check on their dog. Rapport only seemed to be built when I talked down some popular technology or pattern. Other interviewers were quiet other than asking if I'd be willing to perform job duties unrelated to engineering, such as helping with wireframes. Ended early because "No need to keep this going with the end of a Friday coming up" and running out of questions (there were very few actual questions). All was great until this interview.
