I only had the initial phone screening with the recruiter, and so far, it has been the worst experience of my life. The recruiter scheduled a one-hour call, but as soon as the recruiter joined, she said her only role was to collect my salary expectations, check my availability to work in Canada, and ask me two more questions. From the beginning, she was extremely rude and dismissive. There was no introduction, no explanation of the process—nothing. At one point, she even told me that since I’ve been out of work for six months, I’m likely out of touch with the market.
