I applied based on referral. I did not get the position, but I felt the way they went about it was quite rude and unprofessional.
I interviewed with the recruiter who liked me. I then interviewed with the hiring manager. He seemed mildly irritated with me throughout the duration of the interview. Another woman sat in as well.
I never heard a word back. I emailed after Thanksgiving, and again nothing.
My third attempt finally got a response. They went with someone who had more experience. I felt glad that a vitae exceeded that of a referral. Two weeks after the interview, I saw the job was still up on the website. I checked again three weeks later, and the position still was available.
My friend told me they were still hiring, but never found the right person. Believe it or not, I was the only person who applied. I do not appreciate being lied to.
It is one thing to hire someone based skills rather than referral, but to say you did it and never hire is a completely different story. I was told that I would be contacted if any other position becomes available. How would you not contact me about this?
