The interview for the Clinical Application Specialist position was pretty standard. I was interviewed by the HIS Coordinator who is very friendly and easy to talk to. RWHC uses MEDHOST as their HIS vendor and that is where I am currently employed, so there were a few questions that were specific to that software and my ability to troubleshoot/navigate the software. We discussed my background and how it relates to the Clinical Application Specialist job description. I then had a conference call interview with the HIS Coordinator, Systems Administrator, and another Clinical Application Specialist in which we all asked any questions we had for each other, and discussed my relevant skills (i.e. troubleshooting, customer service, etc.) and areas that I have potential to learn (i.e. report writing, other software, etc.). The entire process was very laid back and informal, which made it a very positive experience. This is a small office, so being flexible is a necessity and they make that clear in the interview process.
