      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Oct 27, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Buena Park, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at REVOLVE (Buena Park, CA) in Oct 2016

      Interview

I applied on the Revolve Careers website. Received a phone interview shortly afterwards and scheduled an on-site interview. Interviewee then forgot to send a confirmation email with address. After waiting until the day before the interview, I had to call customer service and ask for instructions on how to proceed. I then sent a inquiry email to the HR representative and they responded with the confirmation email. At the first on-site interview I arrived at their so-called 'lobby' where I waited because there is no one in the small lobby and only by chance someone noticed me waiting and told me I could wait inside and that it would take a little while because 'they are running behind'. I ended up waiting over an hour past my interview time and the person who I was supposed to interview with did not end up seeing me. No big deal, as the first interview was very cursory with a detail test and a questionnaire asking you how to respond to certain customer complaints. The test took 15 minutes and the rest of the interview took 15 minutes asking basic questions about your resume. I was invited back for a second interview. Once again I stood in the lobby, per instructions, only this time no one noticed me and it was about 15 minutes past my interview time so I went inside and asked for help. They told me to sit down inside and wait as they are 'finishing up another interview' Once again I waited an hour past my interview time until finally the person who I was supposed to initially interview with came out and we proceeded with the second interview. They asked me pretty much the same exact questions as the first interview (which made me question the importance and relevance of the first interview) and some other very basic and superficial questions, not much in terms of relevance to the job or about my work ethic and skills. I would've expected since the interview before mine ran so late, that my interview would be similarly long or in-depth. However the interview ended much quicker than expected. The nature of this second interview made me question the basis on which they were distinguishing candidates because the questions certainly were not doing it. Although I though my interview went as well as I could have hoped, I could tell by the end that I most likely was not going to be considered. This did not bother me as much because by the end of the second interview I felt almost overqualified for the job and insulted by the so-called interview process given me. What bothers me even more is what has been noted many times by other reviewers on Glassdoor. This is the lack of a follow-up email either confirming or rejecting me. Every company I have applied to has sent an email saying something along the lines of' 'thank you for your interest but we have moved onto other candidates.' Every person on here that has been 'rejected' has simply been left hanging with no response. This is not only incredibly unprofessional but bars prospective applicants from reapplying to other positions because it creates an awkward sense of non-closure. I understand that the staff at Revolve is relatively young and non-professional but basic business etiquette seems to not be a priority. This is the cherry on top of a horrendous interview process. I respect Revolve's ability to market itself but its HR department needs a lot of work. I hope to apply for another position at Revolve one day and I hope by then its process is cleaned up.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at REVOLVE in Aug 2025

      Interview

The Interview process was very simple. They were VERY accommodating with me in regards to timing and communicated with me every step a long the way. The process is done through google meet which I loved because it’s an easy platform to use. My initial meeting was with the hiring manager, Crista Brame, and it was wonderful! Interviews tend to make me very anxious because a lot of things can go wrong but I felt safe and heard during my interview. Crista was very informative and made sure to set the expectations with me from the beginning which is something that I definitely appreciated. Overall, I got a very clear picture of the role I had applied for but also a good picture of the company and what they stood for. As someone who is passionate about customer service, It was really refreshing to learn that REVOLVE cares about their customers but also, about us as Employees. After my meeting with Crista, I had a meeting with HR which also was very simple, they communicated with me through every step which made me feel very comfortable. Everyone is very welcoming and they make it a point to say we can always reach out for help which is a wonderful and refreshing culture to be in. I am very grateful for everyone who has helped me in my journey and especially Crista, Stina and Alnie, for always communicating with me and for the amazing support they give every single day. I look forward to the rest of my career here at REVOLVE.

      Interview

Interview was good. Applied on LinkedIn and 3 days later got an email with the tests that are needed for the role, and scheduled a virtual interview the day after with Christa. She was very nice to speak to, asked my experiences in retail, customer service and remote work as well as a few questions about my thoughts on OT, how I handled challenges in previous roles and what interested me in the job. She was overall the best interview experience I’ve had with a large company, and made me feel excited about the opportunity to work for Revolve.
