I had a bad experience with an R1 recruiter. When I would speak to her on the phone, she would not know which position I was applying for and gave me wrong information on the position that I actually applied for. She also told me that I would hear about the position (after my f2f interview) within 48 hours. After one month of waiting to hear from her, I finally emailed her asking what happened and she said that the position had been put on hold. Granted, I had interviewed with more than 6 people in the company and was assured that someone would be connecting soon. She also sent me emails that made ZERO sense and did not clarify what they meant when I emailed her back. This particular recruiter lacked professionalism and is not a good representative of this company.
Be prepared to be frustrated if you go through the R1 interview process.

Interview
Interviewed by the hiring manager of the department. I knew immediately he didn't review my resume because I asked him "what specifically do you want to know about me related to the role?" He sounded annoyed and stated " just tell me about yourself". I went on to tell him about my experience at my last employer as it related to the role I applied for and we went on from there. Ok, fine. By the end, he told me I had good experience and would be a fit for the role and wanted to meet me in person. He requested I contact the recruiter to set up a face to face interview with him. I did and 3 hours later received an email with the subject line APPLICATION CLOSED. I was furious! I then sent another email to the recruiter asking if I had received this email in error, well I'm still waiting. Unprofessional and rude! Why lie? Let's me know what the culture is like at R1, new name..... same Accretive Health. Same dysfunctional, unorganized company saved by an infusion of money from Ascension Health.
