Several rounds of zoom video interview with hr, hiring manager, at least five team mates which took 2 months. Some of them acted unprofessional and no respect as they showed up late
- Do you know Protocol Labs?

Mannnny steps! Very short interviews that were rushed, then scheduled more time. Originally met with a recruiter, then completed a skill assessment, then 4 more interview sessions. Nice team! Too many steps for an L3 role.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Protocol Labs in May 2023
I had a positive interview experience with Protocol labs. After my Zoom interview, I was informed that I did not move forward to the next round. However, I was told that there would be further rounds, including a call with the Head of TA, a test, and a final interview. The interviewer demonstrated a strong understanding of the subject matter and asked great questions. I particularly appreciated the fact that the interviewer scheduled a specific time to personally communicate the rejection and even provided feedback. It would be wonderful if other companies could adopt this personalized approach when delivering negative feedback.
- I don't recall the exact questions, but the questions were centered around the intake call and eventually led to the job offer

It was to be as follows: Hiring Manager Homework Challenge 4 Person Loop 1 C-Suite The Hiring Manager interview was very dry, impersonable, and prompt driven. It was like getting the homework challenge on the spot. I was left with literally 2 minutes to ask all my questions, in which I learned nothing about the job itself. I was no longer interested with this being the hiring manager, and didn't enjoy my interview whatsoever. They were also not interested in moving forward to give me the homework challenge.
- What are use cases for Web3 users? (interviewer didn't ask this succinctly)

Got rejected at the screen. Seemed like they were unsure of what they were hiring for - this was just before the layoffs so could have contributed to the process being terminated. Waited 3 weeks to hear back from them.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Protocol Labs
Was headhunted to interview for a job at PL. The process was very disappointing and misleading. Was specifically asked about experience x, y and z, but was turned down as I didn't have experience in a, b and c, even though they didn't ask about a, b and c....Feel the whole process was misleading and unfair.
- Tell me about your experience with x, y and z

Interviews spanned over 2 months with little structure or a clear idea of what they actually wanted the role to be. Recruiters did a good job, but it seems like the staff and managers are unorganized.
- Pretty standard questions around web3 knowledge

I had a screening call and was outlined the process. The interviewer was very friendly and kind. The company was in hyper growth mode, and they were bringing in lots of people. I have seen many jobs posted since. The opportunity seemed really exciting.

Contacted by their recruiter. An intro. call was setup. Later I met with one of their engineering managers for an hour intro and fit assessment. Went pretty well. He identified two teams for me and overall I was excited about the opportunity. We then moved to onsite interview. First session (coding): No coding during this session. The interviewer asked basic DS and Algo questions, how to implement an LRU (we only talked about it), and few questions related to tries and trees. This went pretty well. Second session (small scale): Met a hippie (rather than a developer). He kept correcting my language (I guess he was a social justice snowflake). Asking me to use other words instead of `master` and `slave`. Asked about how to implement hashmaps and how to make them distributed. Went pretty well. Third session (system design): Met one of their engineers I have seen on Youtube. Like his videos, he had a terrible microphone and I literally couldn't hear what he was saying. He was a mess. Asked about RateLimiter. I answered few approaches based on my learnings on Youtube and blogs. He wanted to have a slightly better solution, which himself forgot!! He tried to explain to me what he was ultimately expecting me to answer but he still forgot the answer and needed a few iteration to even articulate that! Fourth session (culture): Typical boilerplate stuff. Went awesome. After three weeks, got a no answer w/o any feedback. I don't recommend these people. They are disorganized. If these are their best folks, I'd bet on something else.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Protocol Labs in Oct 2022
The interview process took approximately 2.5 weeks from sending in my CV to getting an offer. There were initially five interviews (including the initial screening interview), and a sixth was added on about halfway through the other interviews. The interviewers seemed excited about their work, and on a few occasions I asked some fairly pointed questions about the company, workplace culture, technology direction and more - which I felt I got very frank and honest answers to. It was a candid, engaging set of interviews, while at the same time challenging; I was asked questions I wasn't expecting and didn't immediately have any answers to. Every interviewer was either on time within ~10 seconds, or even a few minutes early. Communication was frequent and to the point; I had a good idea of where I stood throughout the process and never felt "in the dark", though it was hard to know if I had 100% gotten the job until an offer was given (and accepted). I was asked to specify what times worked for me; that availability was respected for all but one of the interviews (and as soon as I mentioned there was a potential clash, I was told that interview could be moved if needed - in the end I didn't need to move it). Overall it was the hardest interview process I've gone through so far, but a really positive experience. I felt the passion of each person that interviewed me, way beyond what I've seen elsewhere.
