Interview
I was initially contacted by the People and Culture Manager by email, after I applied online and later scheduled a Zoom interview a few days later. During our conversation, I learned that a portion of the role involved sales-related responsibilities. While this may fit the company’s structure, it stood out to me because it was different from what I typically associate with People and Culture positions.
I also asked about work expectations and scheduling. The standard hours discussed were approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, though there was an emphasis on flexibility and going beyond simply “clocking in and clocking out.” Depending on personal work style and priorities, some candidates may view that positively, while others may prefer a clearer work-life balance structure.
I had previously read employee feedback regarding workload and break schedules, so I asked about lunch expectations during the interview. I was told that employees generally take around 30 minutes, although longer breaks were available if needed however, most employees do not take the hour lunch break.
Throughout the discussion, there was a strong emphasis on company culture and workplace recognition. While I appreciate organizations that value culture and employee engagement, my overall impression was that the environment may be best suited for individuals who thrive in highly involved, fast-paced workplaces with strong team integration.
Ultimately, I never received a follow-up regarding the position after the interview process which I believe was unprofessional. I also recognized that the opportunity may not have aligned with the type of work environment I’m personally seeking.

Interview
Typical interview that included tasks and skills that were never mentioned on the job posting, specifically with SQL, HTML, and C+. Were clearly looking for a unicorn that would both manage, and develop, which are separate jobs in themselves.
