I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Position Imaging (Boston, MA) in Aug 2024
Interview
The whole process was fast-tracked and I really appreciated it. It didn't have any lags or any need for follow-ups.
There were 2 rounds. - Behavioural and Coding
The first was a behavioral round of 1 hour.
The second was a 3-hour round of live application building.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself, situation questions related to the workplace, and how you dealt with them.
Live API building
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Position Imaging (Stratham, NH) in Mar 2023
Interview
The interview process was very hands on and informal. The engineering team was all present and was overall very easy-going about it. There were technical and coding questions focused on issues that can arise with multi-threaded code, memory optimization, BLE, USB serial protocol, and problem solving by elimination in complex multi-component systems. I think the interview ran 3 or 4 hours, so not over quick. We were all tired by the end, but it was friendly and cordial.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked some more or less classic threading questions focused on how to predict and preempt deadlock. The bottomline: understand how threads and mutexes work (in C++) and be able to read code directly and reason about it aloud.
The interview was through a zoom call which last 90-minutes. A long process but understandably so as they were very thorough. I was scheduled the call through their HR department head.
