I went through a relatively involved interview process after the executive director reached out to me to apply. I went as far as (what I assume was) the final round between me and another final candidate and then I never even received an email telling me I wasn't selected for the position - Radio Silence. I was so stunned for so long with how unprofessional that was but I was also incredibly busy at work at the time so I didn't have the capacity to think too much about it. But, months later, it still stands out as one of the most bizarre and, ultimately, unprofessional job interview experiences I've ever had - to get absolute radio silence, even after I sent a follow-up email, after the level of engagement and preparation I was put through....its just stunning. I'm grateful I wasn't chosen for the role because it illuminates failures in the basic functionality of the organization and leadership.
