I initially applied April 21. I received a phone call and a text message April 24 from their system asking me to email the recruiter.
I emailed the recruiter on April 24, and did not receive any response.
The recruiter attempted to phone call me again before personally texting me on April 27.
We agreed to a time on May 4 to conduct a phone interview.
I was not contacted at the agreed time and no follow-up was performed on the recruiter's end.
I received a rejection email from Penske May 7.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Penske Automotive Group (Round Rock, TX) in Aug 2025
Interview
I applied online and received a call back just a couple of days later. A phone interview was scheduled for the next week. This interview was pretty quick, and I was only asked like two questions. I was then scheduled for an in person interview two days later. The interviews with the sales manager was very chill. I wore a suit and tie and felt overdressed. I was asked a few standard questions. Up to this point, the process was extremely fast and easy. After the in person interview though, it took a week to get a contingency offer. I accepted, and started the background checks and drug tests. Despite doing these immediately, I didn’t hear anything back for 3-4 weeks. I reached out to the sales manager just to ask if I had been dropped from consideration since it had been so long. The whole process took just under 2 months from my application submission to my first day of work. And I submitted everything as quickly as possible.

Question 1
Why do you want to work for Penske Automotive Group?
I applied online. I interviewed at Penske Automotive Group (Edison, NJ) in Sep 2025
Interview
The interview process took place over a month, with 3 interviews. Everything was fine untill I was completely ignored after my background check. I was given an off of employment with a potential start date but when I contacted HR to verify everything was okay, I was simply told my offer was "put on hold", with no explanation except to wait for a letter in the mail from the company that did the background check. The letter simply said I may be denied a position, but did not at all specify why. I called and emailed the woman that interviewed me, as well as the HR person, multiple times and have yet to get an answer on what the problem was. It's been 3 wks and I have not been told yet what happened. My drug test, criminal background, and driving records are perfectly clean, so my guess is this is based on my credit, but I CANNOT believe no one has answered me or told me anything straight out. Such an horrible and unprofessional way to treat people.
