I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Payless ShoeSource (North Augusta, SC) in Sep 2012
Interview
Initially I got a call saying that the manager would love to give me an interview within the next two weeks. After said period of time there was not a single call again to actually schedule the interview. I called contentiously for several weeks and got the run around. I even went as far as to visit the place personally. At this point I was given a number to the store in Aiken (which is where the interview took place). I called and the interview was scheduled for a week later. When I got there she immediately showed me to the back where I took a seat and the interview started. She told me her name and asked me what was I willing to be paid which is normal during an interview process. Then she got personal asking me about another employee who was currently working there. Asking how well we knew each other and how often we hung out because she does not like friends in a work place which baffled me because I hardly knew the person. The interview couldn't have lasted 6 minutes and I was out the door and I started the next day.

I passed and started quickly. The process was simple and not intimidating. Everything felt straightforward, and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for an easy experience. I enjoy working here.
