I interviewed at PayBright (Toronto, ON)

Interview

I recieved an email requesting a phone interview which I promptly agreed to. However, the day of my interview was cancelled, and I was confirmed that the person I was in contact with would again be available the following week. I wanted to reschedule, but did not recieve any response until the following week. Finally, I recieved a response, however, my interview was rescheduled by the talent specialist much later in the week. My interview has been postponed over a week at this point. I accepted this as I was genuinely interested in this role. The time of my interview arrives and I am expecting a call, but recieve no call. After 30 minutes, I emailed the talent specialist. An hour later, they informed me that they already found someone to fill the position. This is very strange as the Talent Specialist informed me that they were not available for multiple days. Now I see they sent me an automated email informing me of this, not from the Talent Specialist. I am very disappointed because the way I was treated was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I felt strung along for a week. The bare minimum that could've been done is to directly email me informing me I am no longer being considered. Especially after having my interview pushed back so far. I was genuinely interested in this company, but if this is the standard hiring procedure I really don't know what to say. It's shocking.

I applied online. I interviewed at PayBright (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2021

Interview

Phone interview-all went well, in the end the recruiter told me the salary, it was supposed to be a 6 months contract but, according to the recruiter, if the company will like you then you’ll get a permanent job and the insurance and benefits will start in day 1. They said that they will send the computer and all that I need to me because it was supposed to be a remote job. After giving me all this details the recruiter said that I will have a last Zoom interview with the manager of the Collection Department and at the beginning of the next week I will receive all the details to set a time and date. Well...at the end of this week I received an email from the same recruiter saying that they found someone more suitable . This looks strange..what would be the point to give details about salary, benefits, to tell someone wait to receive details about a Zoom call if you don’t even give the opportunity for that person to move forward. In my opinion, the interview went well. Recruiter was actually telling me how good I fit with the job because of my previous experience. I have no idea what happened.

I interviewed at PayBright

Interview

Process was straightforward with three interviews with relevant parties. A standard writing assignment was provided which did not take too much time. The People Operations team were always available to answer questions and were pleasant and helpful. I would have liked more time with two of my interviewers from the marketing and senior teams, as 30 mins seemed short.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PayBright (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2021

Interview

The interview process was pretty transparent; the hiring manager stayed continuously in touch and answered every question in detail. The whole process took around 4 weeks. The interviewers tried to make it comfortable for me before beginning the process. They explained the role and expectations very well. There was an initial HR round, followed by a technical interview which typically lasted for 2 hours. (No code test but a few tech questions). The final interview was with the senior-level team, and it was more behavioural questions.

Interview Questions
  • Majorly questions were centric towards the role requirements mentioned in the job post and also my previous experience and education.

I applied online. I interviewed at PayBright (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2020

Interview

It was a regular interview process, starting with a phone screen and finishing with the Director of the department. I spoke to 4 different people, and I really enjoy the overall process. It was very transparent, effective, fun, and the company seems to have a great culture. I declined the offer, but I can see a lot of positive perks working for their Customer Success Team, and Paybright in general

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PayBright (Toronto, ON)

Interview

Hiring process was pretty straight forward. Got an email from the Recruiter, then we scheduled a call to go over the basics (salary expectations, about me etc). Then I was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager and another manager from the CX department about for about 1 hour. Finally I met with the Senior Director and someone from the People team. Everything seemed good and the team was really friendly. Unfortunately I was not offered the position as they went with someone with a bit more experience. Totally fine, but what is really weird to me is that they took down the position but now the position is still available on the website.

Interview

Ok so… I came to post but looking at some of the past reviews it seems that there is a pattern at this company as my experience mirrors a few others as one of the worst interviews I’ve ever had. Generic questions off a list, back to back interviews with folks who weren’t prepared and actually made me wait so they could read my resume on the video call. After 1 of 3 interviews I wanted to end it just end it right there - I was not prepared for such an unprofessional negative experience and lack of preparation on their part. In the end I got an email saying they were looking for someone with more experienced in people leadership which wasn’t indicated in the job posting or even mentioned in the interview for this IC positioned role.

Interview

The interview process with PayBright was straightforward, and the recruitment team was very transparent from the beginning in terms of describing what I could expect. I had one initial phone screen followed by five 30-minute sessions with various team members from different departments that I would be interacting with in the role. Everyone that I met was very friendly and conversational throughout, which made me very excited about the company and the chance to join the team.
