The application is reviewed in Richmond, and once they sift through those, they send the list to the Patrick County office. Your first contact from them will be a letter saying that you've been selected for an interview and you'll be asked to call their office.
The interview process was about one and 3/4 hours with two people, but I did have an extremely long wait in the lobby before they called me in. Jobs are at a premium in this area, and I guess they feel that their time is more valuable than yours. On the plus side, once you're in the interview, there is no rush, and they'll take whatever time is necessary for you to answer and ask questions.
This is a very small town and the jobs that are available often go to people they already know (which is not all that unusual for small localities). They made their decision after only one interview of the group, so I believe in this instance that they already had an idea of whom they wanted for the position and were mostly just going through the motions; although I must say they were pleasant and friendly. This was not a confrontational type interview at all.
