      Software Engineering Manager Interview

      Mar 9, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Parachute Health (New York, NY) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Went through the five rounds of interviews/screening. 1. Take-home screening programming took ~45 mins to complete 2. Behavioral 3. Technical pairing interview 4. Architecture interview with staff engineering and product manager 5. System design interview with another staff engineering Did not receive an offer or any feedback, despite spending hours interviewing with them. I hope they fix the feedback loop

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Take-home programming assignment: a. Leet code type question 2. Behavioral: a. Typical behavioral questions. How do you handle conflict? What project are you most proud of an why? etc 3. Pairing interview: a. Implement auction system in ruby where a person can only bid once and at the end of the auction it spits out the winner. 4. Architecture: This was the most confusing part is where you sit with a staff engineer and product manager and they ask you how would you go about designing the feature. The direction I went was more focused on the system design, which did not seem to be something they were really looking for. I wish they could have done a better job explaining what they really wanted to see me focus on. 5. System Design: a. Talk about how you would approach designing and submitting hospital meals to vendors and tracking their fulfillment. I really appreciated the approach the staff engineer took here. He highlighted a handful of bullet points and asked to unpack them in detail. Felt like a conversation where we dove deeper into technical edge cases
