      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (Santa Clara, CA) in Aug 2020

      Interview

Had a HR call and scheduled an interview with the Director, job requirements matched the experience and skill-set. scheduled a 5 panel interview for one full-day. Was not able to make a connection with 3/5 interviewers, lots communication gaps and knowledge variance. I felt I wouldn't have a chance though my resume and experience is close enough to the job requirement. I didn't get the offer.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Palo Alto Networks (Santa Clara, CA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

A recruiter arranged the telephonic technical screening interview. Went well. First round, which included 5 engineers and one second line manager (came to know that he left the company recently) went on well. The manager was truly professional in his approach. The last interviewer mentioned that I had the exact experience for the job! Thrilled to hear that I was selected for the second level interview. HR person sent a request for Glassdoor review since she thought it will be a positive experience.! Didn't write any review since many people who attended interviews before had experienced the similar! The second level interview was mainly to reject a candidate and done by directors, hiring manager and VP. From their non-welcoming attitude during the interview I realized that I won't be selected. All the interviews were technical except that of the VP. VP had the last turn and was not happy since the VP's interview time was taken by the previous interviewer! (the VP's expertise was in behavior science ). I had worked in Windriver systems R&D before. The Chief Architect of the PowerPC architecture was a psychologist, but learned technology after got interested while repairing a fax machine! . So I was expecting something similar. The VP mentioned that the VP got the job due to some connection :( The VP 's questions where typical (your plus and minus points) - warned me not to use google answers :) . So net net, my suggestion- apply only if you know the hiring director or if you are a Nobel prize winner! The recruiter again advertised for the same position in Linkedin. Some people say, they are doing this for the last one year :) Advertising and not recruiting!
