      Executive Assistant Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Pacific Health Group (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2026

      Interview

The interview process itself was professional and generally well run. Communication with the recruiter was timely, and the conversations felt respectful. I progressed far into the interview process without any major issues. One portion of the process involved responding to interview questions via a recorded assessment, which felt clunky and difficult to use, and made it harder to fully convey responses compared to a live conversation. While I was already deep into the interview process, the role was reposted with a revised job description. The updated posting reflected a significantly expanded scope of work, including multi-entity support, increased operational and in-person responsibilities, errands, travel across the county, and handling of financial and logistical tasks. Lots of driving. At the same time, the compensation shifted to a lower hourly pay range, which felt misaligned with the added responsibilities and overall complexity of the role. This made the position materially different from what was initially presented and from a standard Executive Assistant role within a healthcare organization. In doing my own research during the process, I also came across a strong public political presence associated with the CEO that felt unusual to me given the organization’s focus on publicly funded healthcare populations. While this may not be a concern for everyone, it contributed to my personal hesitation around values and cultural alignment. This role may be a fit for someone seeking a highly hands-on, founder-centric position across multiple businesses. However, candidates should ask detailed questions early about scope, boundaries, compensation alignment, and whether the role is still evolving, as expectations appeared to change during the interview process. As someone else mentioned in their review, there are many red flags here. The job description mentions the need for a lot of office visits- but none of the office addressed on the website seem legit. That, coupled with the CEO strong conservative political views, had me pass on the role.
