The HR Department is terrible and their lack of personal/professional courtesy is likely causing them to overlook many excellent candidates.
I was referred to PNC for several positions I was more than wholly qualified for based on length of time and experience in the industry regarding the roles we were discussing. Had an initial interview with an HR 'gatekeeper' and was told my qualifications and experience were excellent, their need was somewhat urgent, and my salary target was well within their range. They suggested the next step would be a conversation with the hiring manager and we came to agreement that would be beneficial. Followed up with a thank you email, then a call in about a week, then again a week later, then, yes, a THIRD time a week later. Nothing. Utter radio silence from them. This exact scenario happened TWICE for two positions I was referred in to.
HR is the face of an organization. Job seekers put an incredible amount of sweat equity into researching a position, networking appropriately, and preparing for an interview. To have this happen twice speaks volumes for the complete disregard, lack of empathy and mutual respect this organization has for potential talent and perhaps even its employees. Approach this company and the interview process with your eyes wide open.
