Quick response to initial email application, with phone screening. Invited to office for follow up interview with two current employees. Basic questions on background, interests, and expectations. Seems like they were looking more for fit at that point.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are some projects or skills you would like to work on during your time here?
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PILPG (Washington, DC) in Feb 2016
Interview
The process included the submission of a short essay and a brief phone interview with more senior research associate. The written element of the process was more important than the phone questions, which were very brief.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PILPG (Washington, DC) in Jan 2019
Interview
I underwent two rounds of Skype interviews. The interviewers were incredibly kind and had a wealth of experience. My major qualm was that they never contacted me after the second interview. Certainly applicants who aren't short-listed shouldn't expect a response. But I thought it was unprofessional not to reach out to candidates who was interviewed twice.
