After about 6 interviews with different team members which ended up being about a 2 month process, the hiring manger (which ended up switching half-way through the process) let me know that the position I was applying for had been removed due to a department restructure. This was after they had already switched the job description half way through. And then I had to send 2 emails trying to get an update on the interview process, as I had been left in the dark up. While everyone was polite and friendly, it would've been nice to know earlier in the process that the department was undergoing restructuring and that might affect my application process.

During this time of virtual meetings and pandemic-safe approaches to working, my interviews were held over the phone and on Zoom. Both the HR recruiter and the team member were friendly, inquisitive, and straightforward.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to pivot on a strategy?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PENNYMAC (Moorpark, CA)
Interview
Conversational interview with employee I was replacing + director, followed by a tougher one-on-one with a VP. Total interview time was about three hours, between the two stages, completed in one day. First part I felt I did well on, second part with VP I didn't feel confident about. Didn't expect to get hired. Surprised when I was offered the role.
Before I was given info about salary or benefits I was asked to provide personal info for background check. I requested an offer be made that I could officially accept before giving my social security number and other private info.
