Interview
Was supposed to be very short but instead they just made up excuses wasting time and ghosting once the main steps were done and they received the take at home task. Then they keep reposting the same job but smake very small changes to it thinking that people don't notice.
It's just a big scam to get free work from candidates and just lead you on by adding new fake steps to just waste your time.
Hi, OysterLink here.
Our interview process includes take-home tasks because they help us evaluate real skills. Every team member currently at OysterLink completed them as part of their process.
We never use candidate work, and we don’t incorporate take-home tasks into product output.
We’re actively working to streamline our hiring process, and strive to have our turnaround time for feedback as humanly short as possible, and we always get to all our candidates.
Thank you!

Interview
I was given a questionnaire and after that I was scheduled for a 15 minute interview and then I was given an assessment that took hours using slides. It was hard and long and after that they ghosted me.
They mentioned my test would only be for testing purposes. I doubt it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The assessment you completed is part of our standard hiring process. Every person currently on the OysterLink team went through a similar task. We want to be clear that we do not use candidate assignments in our product or internal work.

Interview
I was initially excited about the role — until I received the interview assignment.
The test involved creating a full strategic marketing presentation, including budgeting, daily forecast estimates, creative samples, and, most concerning of all, a request for out-of-the-box campaign ideas.
To me, this seemed like an extremely detailed task for a hiring process, especially after only a ten-minute first interview — and knowing they’re likely asking multiple candidates to do the same.
While assignments can be a useful way to evaluate how someone thinks, this particular case felt more like a request for fully formed strategies — and worse, your original ideas — which I personally found very strange at this stage.
Of course, it’s up to each person to decide what they’re comfortable with, but in my opinion, it’s important to set boundaries and recognize the difference between testing someone’s thought process and asking them to develop full campaign plans that could easily be reused — even if they say it’s “for testing purposes only.” That’s not what it looks like based on the questions they’re asking. So to everyone out there: proceed with caution, this interview assignment raised red flags.
Hi, OysterLink here.
The Paid Media assignment is designed to help us understand a candidate’s thinking and level of seniority. For a senior-level professional, the test should not take more than approximately two hours to complete.
We want to clarify that we do not repurpose campaign ideas, strategies, or creative concepts from candidate assignments. They’re used strictly for evaluation purposes.
