OutSolve interview questions

Numerous interview rounds. I seamlessly went to the final interview stage. None of the questions were too hard. But they didn't want to pay what I was asking for, so why even interview me? It was a waste of everyone's time. It would have been better to politely tell me early on it wasn't going to be a good fit. I can honestly say they seem to want to pay less than the average rate for staff.
