I interviewed with them for the position of Senior Engineering Manager or at least I thought so.
Consultant calls me Wednesday evening to schedule a meeting on either Thursday or Friday. She insisted that the concerned person will be travelling next week and requested me manage this week.
I agreed to appear on Thursday morning 8 AM. Left my place at 5:50AM in the morning because of the distance and reached their office at 7:45AM.
And then the wait started. At around 8:25AM, the HR person shows up. He gets to the business right away and asks me to introduce myself. As I share my experience and past assignments, he started questioning me about my salary for each of the companies I worked with in the past.
Things weren't making sense to me but I played along. And at 8:34AM (I literally took a note of my watch), he told me that they are also interviewing other candidates and it'll take them a week to come to a conclusion.
I was left wondering, is this how senior people treated by the personnels of this company? I think most readers would agree that all this could have happened over a phone. I deserved an answer, but I feel, it was a huge mistake going their. I have never seen this level of unprofessionalism. I'll advice all the senior people to be very careful if they choose to appear for a discussion at their Gurgaon office.
